Windows Guest Disable Write Cache

Hi,
In windows server 2008 R2 guest I wanted to disable the write cache on the VBox HDD (under device manager). Is this not supported?. It won't allow me to disable it saying the driver may not support it.
The reason I wanted to disable it was for safety if the guest vm crashes. Host IO cache is enabled and I want it enabled. Obviously that makes issues if the vm host crashes, but I am aware of that. At least snapshot backups of the VDI will be in sync and not have missing data from the guest IO cache.
Thanks!
