Camera extremely slow/jumpy
Camera extremely slow/jumpy
I recently installed windows xp on a gentoo linux host, and everything's been fine until now. I installed the drivers for a usb logitech quickcam and passed it through, but when I open it on the My Computer of the guest, the image is very slow to update, only showing a few frames every 3 sec. What could I do to fix this?

With installed extension pack (on the host) you get usb2 with near 30 % speed of the native capabilties. Without extension pack ypi have only USB1.

Re: Camera extremely slow/jumpy
The extention pack is already installed and usb2 is enabled on the guest. I should note that gentoo linux is a distrobution that compiles EVERYTHING from source code. I will check back after trying out a binary distrobution of virtualbox.
Re: Camera extremely slow/jumpy
Installing the binary virtualbox did not help.

Re: Camera extremely slow/jumpy
I understand the above about 30%. So your saying that normal passthrough will not work on a usb device requiring more data. Is there any way to circumvent this? I need a peice of windows software that won't work under wine and need the web cam, or if possible my anologue mic, for it to work properly.
