OpenGL warning: No pincher

I just installed virtualbox (4.1.10) specifically to be able to develop/debug 3D applications, and now the framework I am using for my application throws an error when run under VB: "OpenGL warning: No pincher, please call crStateSetCurrentPointers in your SPU".

I see some older forum posts on this topic:
http://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic. ... er#p184753
and a still-open bug report:
http://virtualbox.org/ticket/8854

As that post recommends, I downloaded and installed 3.2.12 additions, but when I run with those installed I get an error:
"An attempt by the virtual machine to use hardware 3D accelleration failed. The version of the Guest Additions installed in the virtual machine does not match the version of VirtualBox on the host"

Is there any chance there's a fix for this issue coming up soon? Seems like a major regression. I'm using a windows 7 x64 host and windows 7 x64 guest currently.

Thanks!

The post you quote is over a year old. I would remove the GAs and install the ones that match your version of VirtualBox.

Well of course. I even said that the post I was referencing was old. The 4.1.10 Guest Additions result in the "No pincher" OpenGL error message. Researching that error lead me to that post, which claimed it could be worked around by installing the older additions, but that appears to no longer be true, as of 4.1.10.
