XP Guest on Lion Host Not Getting IP Address

Running 4.1.10 Vbox under Lion. I opened a Vmware XP no problem, but when I try to get to internet, I am not able to. If I go to run -> cmd then type in ipconfig /all or ipconfig /renew, I only get a single line back:
Windows IP Configuration
C:\>
My NAT shows OK, no exclamation point. Really can't reinstall XP as I need to use this image and don't have a copy of vmware. Any ideas.

I'm guessing that you still have the vmware drivers still installed. open the device manager in the Windows guest and see. If they are you will need to remove them and install the VBox drivers.

I am showing VMWare network adapter in devices. If I delete it, how do I add a vbox one?

By selecting the PCnet III adapter in the guests network settings and telling XP to search for new drivers.
You may be able to leave them and just search for the new drivers however this may cause a conflict.

Deleted it in device manager. When I tell it to search, it just readds the vmware network adapater again. Any idea how to get it to recognize a vbox adapter?

Normally I delete the wrong entry and the shut the guest down. Upon reboot it finds the right adapter and installs the right drivers.
Network adapters on Windows sometimes don't completely clear ever on a hot boot.
I have even had a few times when I had to add a second adapter in the guest settings to get Windows to install new drivers and then uncheck the first adapter once the new drivers were installed.
