Setting up a server with VirtualBox.

Hello to everyone.
I m pretty used to VirtualBox, and already successfully created VMs. I had the idea of creating a server hosted on a virtual machine. My host system is Windows 7 based. The guest is Ubuntu 11.10. I use bridged mode for networking (associated to my host ethernet card). The guest ip adress is fixed in my home network and access the web fine. Finally, the guest responds to ping from any machine in my network.
However, if I try to ssh from the outside world to the guest, it can t be accessed. I pkayed a kittle with port forwarding and all but it won t work. I understand the problem is more network than vb related but still, anyone can help?
Thanks!
