CPU-Z Report from XP

Post by greyclear »

Outside of the VM on windows 7 CPU-Z reports the clock speed correctly and multiplier (1600.20Mhz/x16.0 when turbo boost kicks in, 4.6Mhz, x46). Inside XP it is only showing x3 multiplier and it isn't up clocking when it needs to. Processor is i7 2600k. Why is that?

Benchmark timings are rarely meaningful inside a VM. They are not designed with virtual timers in mind.
