I made a copy of my WinXP PC of C: and D: with Microsoft disk2vhd on an USB2 disk. There is a file P5.vhd 60 GB on it.
If I use this file in virtual box, there is a short view of starting Windows (black on white) to choose MS system or WinXP.
But then, there is only a black screen?
I think (and hope) that I can make an image of my complete PC with two or mor drives (C: D: E:) on an external usb drive (1TB) and use this in virtual box to see may PC as guest in my other host PC?
Is this correct?
Gerhard

Turn on the IO APIC option in the VM settings, see if that helps.
The process of doing a Physical to Virtual migration of a Windows guest is called a "P2V" for short. Internal search does not work with three letter words, but if you Google these forums with the search terms "P2V site:forums.virtualbox.org" then you should find lots of useful information.
(Moving this thread to Windows Guests, since the make of your host OS is no more relevant to this discussion than the make of your car).
