It's easy to miss (guess why I know
), especially as VBox now saves the inactive network settings of an adapter, too.

Sorry for the late reply; I thought I was subscribed to the thread but am not.
Yes, this fixes the problem. The description of using --bridgedadapter<n> in the manual is far from clear. I assumed that the first bridged adapter would be --bridgedadapter1, but I now see that the command-line argument is --bridgedadapter<number-you-used-in-dash-dash-nic>.
