I want to take an existing VM on my C:\ drive and clone it, but specify the E:\ drive. How can this accomplished?

If you are running the latest version of VirtualBox you go to the VirtualBox Manager, right-click on your vm and select the Clone option from the list.

This does not work. There is no option to clone the VM and specify a location. I am on the latest version of VirtualBox (4.8.x). Maybe you are talking about another virtualization product than VirtualBox?

Click on "Machine" and you will find it listed there.

The new clone folder will be created in whatever place is selected in File|Preferences|General|Default Machine Path.

I tried this , but the new VM on the E:\ drive will not start.
I ran out of disk space on my C: drive, purchased a large 3TB drive (E:) for additional VM's, but so far have not found a single way to use virtual box on the E: drive
I cannot:
1. Copy or Move any existing VM's with their snapshots to the E:\ drive and start it up
2. Clone an existing VM and set the destination as the E:\ drive and start it up
If there is any solution at all out there for relocating a VM to a different drive (on the same machine or another machine) with virtual box, please let me know.

If you read the entire above thread carefully, and do what it says, then cloning will work.
