I want to install on Linux 11.10 host Win7 in a VB. When I insert the original recovery CD it is not recognized (see screenshot) and get a error message. How can I add the CD?

Try changing ioapic setting in the guest settings.

What exactly have you done so far? That vm is trying to boot, not trying to install an OS. Are you using the original Windows install CD or a recovery disk? What are you using for a virtual hard drive?

Re: Win7 CD is not recognized for installation
Actually, the picture is typical of the display you get when the Win7 installer app encounters a problem, for example trying to install 64bit Win7 into a 32bit VM. In that particular case the "Info" line would clearly talk about 32bit vs 64bit, in this case... perhaps a corrupted .ISO ?BillG wrote:What exactly have you done so far?
