Problem with VM

Hello.

I have Windows 7 Ultimate x64 with 16GB RAM, 3T Hard disk, Intel i7 2600 processor and NVidia GeForce GTX 580 video card.
Running VirtualBox 4.1.8 for Windows hosts.
When I try to increase the RAM of the VM to more than 2048MB I get error and can't start the VM...
Also, if I leave the RAM to 2048 and start up the VM and try to install 64bit Windows on it, it says that "This CPU is not compatible with 64-bit mode"

Any thoughts?

Regards,
Lauri

It would be interesting to look at VBox.log of failing session.

Do you have VT-x enabled in the host BIOS and the VM settings? Without it you cannot run a 64bit guest.

Yes. VT-x/AMD-V is enabled.
Including .png of the settings.

The question was about your computer's BIOS, not about VM configuration. And by the way do I understand you right that launch of your 64-bit VM doesn't depend on amount of memory assigned to VM (neither more 2GB, nor less): VM doesn't start.

My interpretation was that above 2GB he gets (unspecified) error - presumably low memory. <= 2GB the VM attempts to start but he gets the no VMX message. In which case: VT-x disabled in BIOS.

Problem fixed with reinstalling the VirtualBox 4.1.8 (couple of times).

When ever I tried to increase the RAM of the VM over 2048MB I got unknown error and couldn't start the VM. Same problem with increasing the Video Memory or number of Processors.
VM did start and everyting worked with default settings (1GB ram, 27MB Video Memory, 1 Processor...) but I couldn't install 64bit guest because of the "This CPU doesn't support 64 bit mode" error after the "Loading Windows files".
Yes, I had enabled the VT-x in BIOS settings.

Thank you all who helped me to fix this problem.

Now that I have installed the guest, I ran into another problem (not major). When I try to open games (the ones included in Windows such like pinball) I get error : "Hardware acceleration is not available. Please check... "
I went and checked the options there and it's on full acceleration.
Are my settings on VM wrong or?

EDIT:
Got the games working after installing the guest additions.
