For certain guests (with Guest Additions), the mouse's horizontal scrolling behaves like vertical scrolling. Is there a way for me to fix this?
Host: Win7 64
Mice used: Logitech MX400, Logitech MX620
Guests with horizontal scrolling behaving like vertical scrolling: Win7 64, FreeBSD 64
Guests where horizontal scrolling works: Ubuntu 64
Thank you.

Re: Logitech Mouse Horizontal scroll
Do you have some evidence that the problem is related to VirtualBox?
I'm rather puzzled because I was under the impression that the virtual mouse simulated for guests in VirtualBox is a standard 2 button PS/2 Microsoft mouse. No scroll wheels. Of course the guest will not see a Logitech mouse ever.
Also, I've never owned a mouse with a horizontal scroll wheel, so even on the host I have no idea what you are referring to.

Re: Logitech Mouse Horizontal scroll
Please see attached.
Under VBox, the Win7 guest recognizes horizontal titling of the VBox mouse driver, but translates horizontal tilting of the mouse as vertical scrolls when it should be horizontal scrolls.
Horizontal tilting works out of the box for the Ubuntu guest -> i.e. horizontal tilting maps to a horizontal scroll.
Fwiw:
Use VMware player as well, but they kind of have the opposite issue where horizontal tilting works for Win7 guest but not Ubuntu guest.
If there is something else you need, please let me know.

Re: Logitech Mouse Horizontal scroll
I can confirm that this also occurs with 32bit Windows XP on an OS X host. Two finger vertical scroll works but two-finger horizontal scroll is registered as vertical scroll as the OP describes.

Re: Logitech Mouse Horizontal scroll
Does anyone have any ideas with this? Would be appreciated
Re: Logitech Mouse Horizontal scroll
I have an XP Guest installed where horizontal scrolling is working just fine, however I just installed Win 7 and it does not work there. I also checked another Win XP guest and its also not working there. I can't think of anything I did that would have made the on XP guest work and not the other except it may be that I imported this guest from Parallels or something. Unfortunately I think this was done some time ago.
I really want to replace the XP guest with a Win 7 one but no horizontal scrolling with two finger swipe is a bit of a show stopper.
Host in OS X Mountain Lion. VirtualBox is latest 4.2.
Anyone know if this is a supported function in VirtualBox - never had to think about it before now...
