port forwarding between macos host and suse guest

Post by lolveley »

hello

host OS : mac os X lion
guest OS : suse linux enterprise system SLES 11sp1 x64
VB version : 4.1.8

j'ai installé oracle database et j'arrive à lancer le service enterprise manager, anyway le point important est que dans un navigateur l'adresse :
I installed oracle database and I manage to launch the enterprise manager service, that means in a browser the address https://localhost:1158/em displays a web sheet.

back to the host : in virtualbox, the network tab if my guest' settings displays the section "port forwarding" (it's my translation); I enter these settings:

- host ip : 127.0.0.1
- host port : 1158
- guest ip : 127.0.0.1
- guest port : 1158
-protocol : TCP

next, with the VM launched, I enter the above address (https://localhost ...) in macos' firefox and I have ... a time out error : the server does not respond.

I specify I disabled the guest' firewall.

Can you help me?

Does the error come from the HTTP address (https), from the protocol (TCP and not HTTP)?

First using localhost on both PCs is asking for issues. All PCs have localhost as their local loop back.

If the only address the host has is 127.0.0.1 then you don't have a network and the NAT interface will not work. You would at that point use the host-only adapter that will give the host and guest a unique ip address and forwarding will not be necessary.

See Chapter 6 Virtual networking in your VirtualBox users manual.
