hellos,
so i'm having some issues with morrowind in an XP guest, host system os x 10.6.8. basically there's next to no text in the game, and what text there is is essentially just glitchy-looking boxes (missingno.-esque, in fact).
here's a photo album i put together: imgur (dot) com/a/soJ4W (forum won't let me post urls for another day, i guess). other than the text issue the game runs fine, seemed like i was getting at least 60 fps. however, since it's an elder scrolls game, it's literally impossible to play like this. dxdiag suggests i update my directx drivers (guest additions are already installed), but doing so didn't help or get rid of that suggestion. i've checked and unchecked 2d and 3d acceleration, and that didn't help either.
i'm pretty much at a loss! any suggestions?

Re: Morrowind issues in XP guest
I'm having the exact same problem with Morrowind. Does anyone have a fix for this, or has the OP fixed it? The game would be playable if I could read the text. Thanks for your help in advance.
EDIT: I'm running XP guest on Mac OSX 10.6.8, with Virtualbox updated.
SECOND EDIT: I think I found a fix, but I'm not sure what caused it. I uninstalled and reinstalled Morrowind, and then went to settings from the main screen (the screen that comes up when you pop the CD in) and turned off pixel shading. And then it worked. I haven't had time to mess around with it further, but so far it's working well, even if the frame rate is a little slow.
