Exporting / Moving VM To New Host

Post by CarlosinFL »

I've had a Arch Linux database guest that was built on Virtualbox running on a Windows 7 64-bit O.S. Today I've moved to a new dept. in my office and my new workstation also has Virtualbox however it's on a GNU/Debian Linux 64-bit machine. I've exported the guest VM from Windows 7 as a .ova file and moved it to my new Debian Linux host but when I import the file, I get the following error:
Error I receive when attempting to start my imported Linux guest from Windows 7 (64-bit) host to Debian Linux (64-bit) host.
Error I receive when attempting to start my imported Linux guest from Windows 7 (64-bit) host to Debian Linux (64-bit) host.

The error is actually a two part error. I didn't realize the 2nd 1/2 of the error indicated I need to enable virtualization extensions but the 1st 1/2 didn't work with the 'modprobe' command...
