VirtualBox won't resize to guest monitor

Hello,

I have been using an Ubuntu VirtualBox on my Mac for about six months now. One day after switching between full screen and back using the command F key multiple times, my VirtualBox screen shrunk to a smaller size and hasn't been resizable since. I have since updated the VirtualBox version to 4.1.8, as well as reinstalled the guest additions. I have checked my logs and haven't seen any errors. Is it possible that the guest additions didn't install properly?

I have had this problem in the past but was able to fix it by switching out of full screen mode and resizing the box a couple of times, then switching back to full screen mode. This time, this doesn't work.

Any ideas?

Thank you,
Lani

Quick correction:

The VirtualBox won't resize to the Host monitor.

Sorry.

Check if automatic resize is still enabled. It can happen that you accidently hit Host+A and toggled that option. It's best to use the menu to see if it's on or off. You'll also see if the Guest Additions are properly working, as you won't be able to select Seamless Mode if they aren't.

Thank you!!!! I didn't even know that option existed. It turns out the short cut key for turning auto resize on and off is Host + G. So, it's absolutely possible that I hit that by mistake instead of Host + F to switch to full screen. I've been trying to figure this out for days, so I really appreciate your help! Thanks again!
