Window 7 professional

Hi, I'm fairly new to computers so pleas be nice. I downloaded the virtual box and I'm running Window 7 Home premium as my main host. I have a Windows 7 professional disc in 64 and 32 bit that I'm required to have in a virtual environment for a class in college. When I download the virtual box I don't know what settings to do at the beginning to be able to use the USB drives, or the DVD drive in the Guest OS. For my class I have to download Windows 7 WAIK and burn it to a Blank DVD then use the software in my Guest OS. I downloaded the file just fine but when I use Imgburn it doesn't recognize any optical drive to burn the ISO file too. So I just did it in my main OS and when I try to play the disc in my Virtual PC I get a win32 error.
Separately I'm using a toshiba sattellite C655D aptop home premium 64 bit, and It said I need to make sure the Amd-v is enabled in my host OS to use the 64bit Windows 7 Professional. So I called the guy at Toshiba to ask how to enable it(because there wasn't a setting in BIOS after or before I updated it) and he said it is enabled by default. The message I get is it's enabled bt not operatonal. The 32bit seems to work fine except the no usb or dvd drive that I mentioned above.
Please help!
