Aero is still not working for me on my Windows 7 guest (32 bit). I installed the DirectX 3D driver in safe mode.
I have 2D and 3D support enabled in "Settings", as well as 256MB VRAM.
Help me out please!
Host: OS X Lion (10.7.2)
2.4Ghz C2D
8GB RAM (3GB for guest)
nvidia 9400M
VirtualBox version 4.1.8

You need to un-install the d3d drivers (guest additions) in safe mode.
Reboot the guest and start *NOT* in safe mode.
Install the guest additions, select 3D, say *NO* to the d3d drivers, and install the wddm drivers instead.

Thanks Perryg.
I uninstalled the guest additions in safe mode, and then booted back up normally, re-installed guest additions (this time with the WDDM) driver.
I thought I was good when the guest booted up and the task bar was transparent, however as soon as I moused over it, it reverted back to non-Aero.
What's going on?

I originally had the task bar on the right, so I moved it to its normal location on the bottom, rebooted, and so far, it seems to be working. Thanks for your quick responses though. If it starts hiccuping again, I'll set the VRAM to 160MB.
