I have installed VM, Windows 7. All has gone well and I can open Windows and adjust settings and use Windows. Now I am trying to install "QuickBooks Accountant" and I can't get it to install. I insert the install disk in my drive, it runs, shows me that it's installing, then freezes and doesn't move any further. I've given/allowed more than enough RAM space in my VM settings. I'm stuck! Please help! Thank you.
P.S. I'm thinking I'm missing some settings in Virtual Box that is not allowing the software install.

Re: Installing software on Windows 7
You have to read the requirement for the software and it's limitations to determine if you can install it in a virtual machine. Have you tried to copy the installer files from the CD to the VM hard drive and run the installer from there?

Re: Installing software on Windows 7
I have not tried this step. I know that the software does allow install on VM. Other notes or options would be helpful. I'm right there, now I just need the software to install and I'll be done with my operation.

Maybe the Windows Event Viewer mentions something that's going on.

Try turning passthrough on for the virtual CD.

Re: Installing software on Windows 7
Thank you for the help with the guest settings. I changed these-still not letting my install.Sasquatch wrote:You have to read the requirement for the software and it's limitations to determine if you can install it in a virtual machine. Anyone have any helpful hints on copying the installer files from the CD to the VM hard drive, and running the installer from the VM HD? Many thanks.
Re: Installing software on Windows 7
Did you ever get an answer to this, or otherwise successfully install the product? Before I attempt to do it myself, it would be good to know that you got it to work, and what you ultimately had to do to make it happen. Thanks.
