Why a .vda export is much lighter than a clone file?

Hi,

I'm moving a vm from a desktop to a laptop. I've read many things about cloning and exporting but the strange thing is that exporting using VB wizard generates a 4GB vda file when the clone is about 10GB. Is this only a compression applied to the vda?

Thanks

How much space is used inside the VDI? It can make a difference. And VXA is a compressed format.
