VHD Inaccessible. VER_VHD_INVALID_HEADER

Post by Pakal »

Hi,

I have opened a .vhd created with Virtual Pc 2007 with Virtual Box and everything was working fine, until I have turned off and tried to turning on again.

I´m receiving this error:

Fallo al abrir una sesión para la máquina virtual Portal AESA.

No error info.

Código Resultado: E_FAIL (0x80004005)
Componente: ProgressProxy
Interfaz: IProgress {c20238e4-3221-4d3f-8891-81ce92d9f913}

If I put the mouse over the vhd file in the Storage section I can see this error:

VD: error VER_VD_VHD_INVALID_HEADER opening image file 'xxxxxxx'

Any idea about how to repair the .vhd?

Thanks in advance!

The only way to repair a broken VHD is using a backup. The VHD format has known reliability problems and should be avoided when possible.
