I could write it, but i wont do this. Its better you understand for what a manual was made for.

Re: Sopcast through Virtualbox
Thank you for your patronising answer I can read a manual! Your link means nothing to me and does not solve my problem. If you cannot be polite don't bother answering. If I was that clever I would not need forums. I thought the idea was to help others who are not so bright or older like me, I am 65.

Re: Sopcast through Virtualbox
Have you read the link?
Every time VirtualBox starts up a VM, a so-called "release log file" is created containing lots of information about the VM configuration and runtime events. The log file is called VBox.log and resides in the VM log file folder. Typically this will be a directory like this:
$HOME/VirtualBox VMs/{machinename}/Logs
When starting a VM, the configuration file of the last run will be renamed to .1, up to .3. Sometimes when there is a problem, it is useful to have a look at the logs. Also when requesting support for VirtualBox, supplying the corresponding log file is mandatory.
For convenience, for each virtual machine, the VirtualBox main window can show these logs in a window. To access it, select a virtual machine from the list on the left and select "Show logs..." from the "Machine" window.

@livefortoday6491,
You will find them in the main VirtualBox program by clicking the machine tab and show log. Save and post here (as an attachment).

Re: Sopcast through Virtualbox
Your guest machine is your vm. Surely you know what version of the OS is installed on it (anf how it is configured)!livefortoday6491 wrote:Oracle VM Virtualbox Manager 4.1.8 which Guest version I do not know or configuration and where do I find the log file?

I have Windows 7 Home Premium but what needs configuring in Virtualbox? I just downloaded Virtualbox for Mac OS X 10 to Lion and loaded Guest Additions.

Re: Sopcast through Virtualbox
A virtual machine is a software representation of a physical machine. Like a real machine there are lots of things that you can change about its "hardware". If you shut down your vm (not save/hibernate), then select the vm in the VirtualBox Manager window and click on "Settings" you will see how your vm is configured (an what you can change).livefortoday6491 wrote:I have Windows 7 Home Premium but what needs configuring in Virtualbox? Re: Sopcast through Virtualbox
@livefortoday6491,
Sorry I have not been able to work on your log file until today. Really busy.
1) You are running Darwin (MAC) and I bet you have the ATI video card.
2) I don't see where you have installed the wddm drivers on the guest. This will help.
3) video playback in a guest is slow and depending on the size of the screen it can play ok or really choppy. The bigger the screen size the worse it is.
The best thing to do is try to install the wddm drivers and make sure that you have the latest drivers on the host for your graphics (not sure MAC has newer drivers though).

Re: Sopcast through Virtualbox
Its a part of the guest additions. You must choose 3D when installing guest additions.
