Defragging the Guest (ssd related)

Since defragging an SSD is a different than a spinning disks I assume the framentation is no different however what about the guest itself? If the container is fragmented, yet I don't defrag my SSD drive I guess there would be no point in defragging the guest yes?

Same principle applies. Even though you are working with a file the drive is the same, unless you have your guest/s stored on a spin drive.

Nope all stored on SSD, Virtual Box and the guests. Only data transfers I do from those to spinning disks is via mapped drive.

SSDs don't need defragmentation because access times are the same no matter how severe. Since you store the Guests on your SSD, make sure you set the SSD bit in the HDD settings of the VM, so they set themselves to work like that. If your Guest OS is W7, it will disable automatic defragmentation when idle.

The box is checked already. They are XP. My host is Windows 7 and I know they dont need defragging. You can google this information and read an entire day on it where its 80/20 most saying not to and some saying its ok in moderation. My only concern was the container, not where it resides however since it is on an SSD drive I guess there would be no point in it.

Both are a concern. Since you want to avoid unnecessary reads and writes (especially writes), you don't want your VMs to try to defragment itself.

Aside from prefetching defragging is off on the guest and host. Indexing is off as well
