Virtualbox VM as transparent Bridge - Possible?

Post by petechua »

Hi,

I have a scenario as below:

The centos VM is configured in bridge mode, there isn't a ip address on eth0 and eth1. eth1 of both vyatta router are in the same subnet(172.20.0.X/24). I tried doing a ping from vyatta router 2 to vyatta router 1. Through the tcpdump on centos and vyatta router 1, i observed the arp request from vyatta 2 reaching centos and through to vyatta1. However, the reply arp from vyatta router 1 did not reached vyatta 2. How do i go about configuring the network adaptor for centos or the vyatta router to achieve transparent bridge? I have tried a combination of Bridged adaptor and host-only-adaptor. Any advise? thanks!

+-----------+ internalNet0 +-----------+ internalNet1 +-----------+

| eth1 | | eth0 | eth1 | | eth1 |
