Hello,
I'm trying to move my Windows Guest VM running on OSX with the CPU
hardware information below to a Ubuntu Linux without success.
Darwin CPU information
Hardware:
Hardware Overview:
Model Name: MacBook Pro
Model Identifier: MacBookPro3,1
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
Processor Speed: 2.4 GHz
Number Of Processors: 1
Total Number Of Cores: 2
L2 Cache: 4 MB
Memory: 4 GB
Bus Speed: 800 MHz
Boot ROM Version: MBP31.0070.B07
SMC Version (system): 1.16f11
Serial Number (system): W88043AFX92
Hardware UUID: 00000000-0000-1000-8000-001EC20A6C55
Sudden Motion Sensor:
State: Enabled
The targe system is Quad Cor Intel:
~:1> cat /proc/cpuinfo
processor : 0
vendor_id : GenuineIntel
cpu family : 6
model : 42
model name : Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2430M CPU @ 2.40GHz
stepping : 7
cpu MHz : 800.000
cache size : 3072 KB
physical id : 0
siblings : 4
core id : 0
cpu cores : 2
apicid : 0
[...]
What I did was:
VBoxManage clonehd --format VDI 9cf64b91-73c1-46a8-b353-b5a89c6292a4 ClonedVMs/Windows/Windows.vdi
After copying the cloned VDI to the remote linux host I created a new
VM and added thus VDI image as primary disk.
After powering the VM on all I get is black screen after the
Virtualbox information is displayed. The VM just hangs.
What am I doing wrong here?
Thanks and regards -- Peter
