"Connection Refused" when "Check for Updates..."

Post by torgerson »

I suddenly began received the full message, "Unable to obtain the new version information due to the following error: Connection refused" when choosing "Check for Updates..."

I am not behind a firewall, do not use any proxy, and have no blockers running. I am able to access the Internet both outside of VB as well as from within the Windows guest running within VB.

Initially, I was running v4.0.12 when I first encountered this problem. I launched the Windows guest and was able to access the Internet just fine within the VB guest.
I then updated to VB v4.0.14 and still had no luck. I have now installed the latest version of VB v4.1.8 and still have the same issue.

Any ideas?

They are moving the servers to a new location and the update server refused connection might be due to this reason. I would check again next week and see if it responds properly. Post back next week if it still is in error.
