Use real HD for guest OS?
Greetings. I am trying to use a read hard disk for a guest OS. Upon rummaging through some old things I found an old hard disk that has windows 98 on it. I was trying to get VB to boot it but there doesn't seem to be any simple way to use an externally connected real hard disk. I tried making symlinks to the actual device itself with no luck, and if I just try to grab the device itself, VB refuses to see it when booting. Any ideas? Or should I just go over to my boot camp partition and play with VirtualPC?

What would make you believe that VirtualPC would boot a vm from a hard disk? It used a virtual hard drive, just like VirtualBox or VMWare do.

And if you want to use a hard disk in RAW mode, then may be you should read the User Manual before stating "it doesn't do it" or "it doesn't work".

Wow. I think you could have been a bit more mature about that.
