deleted vm still taking space on hard drive

Hi.

I am new to VirtualBox. I installed a guest os (Vista) in Virtual Box. Things were not going well so I finally figured out I had to upgrade VB to the latest release. I thought i would start clean and decided to remove my guest before uninstalling the old version and installing the new updated VB. This I did successfully. Only thing is I have been keeping track of my disk space and noticed the size and space of the guest install is still shown as used space on the hard drive. How do I eliminate the old VM completely? I did not create a snapshot before doing this. To remove I right clicked the VM in VB Manager, clicked remove and chose delete all files. Did I miss anything?

Thank you

Chip

You can't have deleted the files, as they would now be gone. Assuming, that is, that you are correct that disk space is still being used by a VM.

If it still exists you should find the VM folder in <userdata>\"VirtualBox VMs"\<vmname>. If they have been removed from the GUI then you can simply delete the appropriate subfolders.
