Newbie needs help; VB machine shutting down after 1 hour

Howdy, folks. I come to you in desperation.

I just got a Macbook Pro which I use for business (rebel!) and our business system runs only on IE8. So I've been using VirtualBox, and everything's been great. BUT...the VB machine I created automatically powers itself down after one hour. Exactly one hour, without fail, every time. It's just the virtual machine that shuts down; the "dashboard" will stay up. I'm all updated on my Mac as well as VB. Double-checked the sleep options. I've searched and asked and searched and asked, and can find nothing to alleviate this problem.

Can anyone help me out?

Hey! I have the exact same problem. I'm running VirtualBox IE8 on my Macbook 2010, it runs fine until everything shuts down after exactly one hour... the "hourglass" starts spinning and windows shuts down, as if I had turned the "power off" or something (wich I ofcourse didn't). Frustrating! It must be some preset that can be dealt with?

Maybe your trial period has expired. Standard MS approach is to shut down every hour.

That was it! I just verified my version of Windows and it worked. No more unintentional shut-downs! Yay! Thanks alot!
