I am running ubuntu 10.04 LTS in virtualbox. Installed lamp and added some personal tweaks.
Is it now possible to save this customized instance so I can reinstall this later easily.

If so what are the steps to perform to create this image?

Thanks in advance

Save the vdi file. On a new host create a new guest pointing to this file.

Thanks for your reply.

I must be overlooking something or perhaps used the wrong configuration but I only see a vmdk file.

What Stefan is getting at is to save the folder that has the guest and it control file somewhere. (requires version => 4.0.* of VirtualBox).

Be careful. VirtualBox supports both VMDK and VDI disk image formats. We can't tell from here which one you should be using. Only you know how that disk image got there, and what's in it.
