How to load Window video drivers on guest OS?

Post by edincalif »

I am running the latest version of vbox on Fedora 16.
I installed Win7 as a guest. But it only sees the video as Generic device.
I tried to run my Radion CD with the windows drivers but it says it cannot
find the video card.

Is there a way to run windows video drivers in a guest environment?

thanks, Ed

The answer is no. Install guest additions.

Read the Forum posting guide and the FAQ. You have to learn what a VM is (and here: what not).

Video cards are one of the most asked questions. So, read the VirtualBox FAQ. This is getting a lock, it's too easy to find the answer. It's in the Forum Posting Guide to read the FAQ first and you even get a warning notice when you try to post.
Read the Forum Posting Guide before opening a topic.
VirtualBox FAQ: Check this before asking questions.
Online User Manual: A must read if you want to know what we're talking about.
Howto: Install Linux Guest Additions
Howto: Use Shared Folders on Linux Guest
See the Tutorials and FAQ section at the top of the Forum for more guides.
Try searching the forums first with Google and add the site filter for this forum.
E.g. install guest additions site:forums.virtualbox.org
