Cannot go full screen on 27" iMac

Post by mwf19 »

Hi.

I have a 27" iMac at work as of a few hours ago. I wanted to virtualize Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit at full-screen so I can run a few Windows only applications. I intend to use multiple desktops and just swipe between OS X and the full screen Windows like I do on my 21.5" (Mid 2011 series for both).

Here is what I did. I exported the appliance from the 21.5" and put it on an external drive. I went to go import it on the 27".

Most of the settings are exactly the same so I changed just about nothing. I go cmd-f to go full screen and I have full screen Virtualbox session but a letterboxed Windows 7. The resolution of the 27" iMac is 2560-by-1440. Does Virtualbox even support that large of an output?

I have the Guest Additions installed and the extensions pack.

Please let me know what further information is required to troubleshoot or how I can fix.

Thank you.

Install the guest additions again and make sure that the auto-resize toggle is on. (host+G)

Hi.

I reinstalled the guest additions. Auto-resize Toggle is on.

I imported another WIndows 7 64 bit VM and the same thing occurred.

Any more ideas? Anything I can do to help?

Ok that's really strange. I rolled back to 4.0.1 additons with an older VM and it worked.

I upgraded with host-d to 4.0.8 guest additions and it's ok now.

That's odd.

Would any log files help?
