3D acceleration Wingps ActiveX in vs 4.1.8

Post by cees verhoef »

LS!

I am using a Windows sailing navigation package called WinGPS by a company called Stentec it is a very good package, but it seems to get the chart images garbled see the screenshot.

I used the 3D accelleration that seems to emulate activeX installed in safe mode. However the result is kinda disappointing

Does anybody recognise this and have a suggestion on houw to fix it?

Best regards,
Cees

Hi Stephan,

As a last resort that will probably work, but i'm here on the Virtualbox forum, not in the Bootcamp forum ;-) or not?

Virtualizers are not made for games. It may work or not. If not, then not.

Games? I understood him to say it's a GPS package for sailboat enthusiasts? I assume it displays a map/chart with your current coordinates?

If so, it doesn't sound like a strenuous test for graphical capability. I can't see a need for a high framerate, so wouldn't have thought it needed graphics acceleration.

Were the Guest Additions installed?

(the referenced screenshot was missed out btw).

Read the first post: "I used the 3D accelleration that seems to emulate activeX installed in safe mode." I think yes.
