Cannot create the machine folder...

Post by sheimdal »

Getting this warning:

===========
Cannot create the machine folder stuart in the parent folder /Users/sheimdal/VirtualBox VMs.

Please check that the parent really exists and that you have permissions to create the machine folder.
==========

This is a new installation on my MB Pro running Lion 10.7.2
Any assistance would be very much appreciated!

I just installed version 4.1.8 and am trying to build my first box (windows XP) on my MB Pro (Lion 10.7.2)...

This warning happens on the 2nd screen of the wizard when I try to set up a new machine.

Work around: create a folder in your user profile without spaces, then set the VB Preferences to use the just created folder for VMs.
