Graphics card

Post by Alexander O »

Is there any possible way of configuring my Virtual Windows 7 to use my Macbook Pro's NVIDIA graphics card as its own? I've been wondering about this and I'm not sure how to work it. Also after inserting a disk into the drive, can I use that IN my virtual machine as well? I'm new to this and apologize for my ineptness.

Your guest can not use the hosts graphics adapter directly. You must install the guest additions (in the guest) and install the WDDM drivers to get the best performance.

You can use the hosts CD/DVD in the guest. You may find it necessary to set the passthrough to on in the guest settings.

Before you have any more questions, I suggest you read both the User Manual and VirtualBox FAQ. That should cover a lot.
Read the Forum Posting Guide before opening a topic.
VirtualBox FAQ: Check this before asking questions.
Online User Manual: A must read if you want to know what we're talking about.
Howto: Install Linux Guest Additions
Howto: Use Shared Folders on Linux Guest
See the Tutorials and FAQ section at the top of the Forum for more guides.
Try searching the forums first with Google and add the site filter for this forum.
