Please Help: Workbooth

Post by Marxam »

Alright, I need to run a CD-based operating system known as Workbooth to do my job. I can't install it, and I don't know how I could put the Guest Additions onto it, as it has no method for handling a disc, having been meant to run from a disc itself.

The disc is capable of running at the resolution of my monitor (1366x768) as it does so when booted normally, but it refuses to show any other resolution while inside Vbox, despite trying to change the resolution inside workbooth itself.

If there's any way anyone can help me, I would really appreciate it, as I want to run Workbooth in Vbox so I can actually use the rest of my computer while it's going.

Not sure if this would actually help but... I've been checking the Workbooth help site, and one of the screenshots over there shows part of an LXDE menu (which might not be still current to the version you're actually using, as Google tells me they've used Knoppix on their former versions).

I totally doubt that their customized CD would let you access the terminal for whatever tweaking purposes...

I fear you'd might have to remaster the CD in order to allow the terminal and maybe other apps. OTOH, as I'd bet the whole thing is a bit security-minded, TeleTech might detect whatever tampering you might have done, and I'm sure you would NOT want that. :?

Just my 2 cts.

Cheers

I recognize that, I still want to find out what's causing the problem, as it's just a visual issue, everything else seems to be working perfectly well.

Did anything change from the last time you asked the same question?

Only that I wanted to give it another go, and that the topic seemed dead. (It was never really resolved in the first place.)
