4.1.8 installer fails on my os x lion macbook pro

Post by pws »

Hi there,

I just downloaded 4.0.18 and the installer failed somewhere in the scripts section at the end. I'm on a six month old macbook pro running lion. The app won't run because lion says it's an incomplete/damaged installation, and the old version is gone. Has this happened with anyone else?

Best regards

I reckon the VirtualBox team are all on holidays still... I'm going to try grabbing the previous version's intaller until this issue is at least identified. Sorry and I got the version wrong - not VB 4.0.18 - 4.1.8 (changed the subject :-) ).

Best regards,

Happy New Year!

I too have been unable to install successfully 4.1.8. Have had to revert to 4.1.6. Am running OS X 10.7.2 on an iMac.

Kind regards

Managed to get 4.1.10 installed yesterday evening.

Initially the installation threw up the same error, so I decided to use the new un-installer. This failed the first time, but I persisted, repeating the attempt twice more, until it said nothing to un-install.

I then re-tried the installer and it worked.
