Optimize Paging / Swap for guest OS

Hi! I use windows 7 (HOST) and windows XP (GUEST) and ubuntu (GUEST).
The biggest problem is the disk, i think that it's caused by the SWAP or paging file. (i'm on a laptop).
1) If i have WXP on a IDE virtual HD will i lose performance?
I enabled the paging file on WXP
2) Is there a way to use the W7 page file instead of a new file?
That's because I can plug in 3 2GB usbKey that can make my w7 page file faster than a normal HDD...
What means "Enable host I/O chache" -> i enabled it.
