Hi! I use windows 7 (HOST) and windows XP (GUEST) and ubuntu (GUEST).
The biggest problem is the disk, i think that it's caused by the SWAP or paging file. (i'm on a laptop).
1) If i have WXP on a IDE virtual HD will i lose performance?
I enabled the paging file on WXP
2) Is there a way to use the W7 page file instead of a new file?
That's because I can plug in 3 2GB usbKey that can make my w7 page file faster than a normal HDD...
What means "Enable host I/O chache" -> i enabled it.

Re: Optimize Paging / Swap for guest OS
If you set "no page file" in your guest, but give it more memory than the host RAM, the guest will effectively be using the host's paging.
On the other hand, I think that a page file on a USB memory stick is likely to shorten the stick's life. Also, when the stick does start giving read errors, they will show up as faults in the paging system rather than in the file system and I suspect that your OS will be less graceful in handling that sort of thing.

You can't give a guest more memory than the host RAM.
