USB local printer W7 guest

Hi

I have Win7 running as a guest in an Mac OSX host. I have a local USB printer attached to the Mac. When I look in settings/USB devices, the printer doesn't appear, not even greyed-out, but my other USB devices are there. How can I get this printer to appear so that I can use it in the W7 guest?
