2Gb base memory limit, can I add somehow more?

Post by jpkeisala »

I have 8Gb ram on my machine and I want to add 4Gb to a virtual machine. But it seems that GUI only allows me to set Max 2Gb for Virtual Machine. Is there any other way to do this?

This is currently not supported. We will add AMD64 support into future releases and this will bring more guest RAM as well.

i'm sure this isn't an easily answerable question, but will such availability be on any kind of timeline? I'd happily pay extra for a product that clearly guaranteed me an ability to maintain as big a windows environment as I required inside my linux machine.

Heck, if I could let my Linux host use only 2 gigs of ram and give Windoze 20, it would help me at least start to get the heck away from some of their nonsense.

I'm not kidding when I say I'd pay for the privilege.
