IE VMs - Help modifying bash script
Posted: 21. Dec 2011, 15:57
Yesterday i installed the IE vm's as i'm a web dev and need to test in IE
I followed this tutorial
http://osxdaily.com/2011/09/04/internet ... ie-9-free/
However, the scripts D/L and install to ~/.ievms and they take up about 50GB on my Macbook Air which has limited capacity.
Could i edit the bash script to make it install to my preferred place, an external hard drive?
I did try cloning but it said it was going to take 3-6 hours yet i could copy the 50gb in minutes. In the end i just deleted the whole lot after getting frustrated with not being able to simply copy the VDI's as i understand MS use the same generic UID so conflicts occurred and cloning was taking far too long.
This is the bash script : https://raw.github.com/xdissent/ievms/master/ievms.sh
And my external HDD is mounted as : "/Volumes/iBook 1TB"
I assume i only have to change the first line in the first function
def_ievms_home="${HOME}/.ievms"
to
def_ievms_home="$/Volumes/iBook 1TB/Virtual Machine/.ievms"
Any help much appreciated
