Guest machine on VirtualBox-4.1 "BOOTMGR is compressed."

Hi friends,

I updated from Fedora14-x86_64 to Fedora16-x86_64 host, and I thought
VirtualBox-4.0 was ok. When I started Winvista64 Guest I got the message:

BOOTMGR is compressed
Press Ctrl-Alt-Del to restart

I did it, and the Winvista64 boot started again and stoped at the same
point. In a loop.

I thought that the problem was VirtualBox for Fedora14. I removed it.
So I installed Virtualbox-4.1-4.1.6 for Fedora16-x86_64.

The same thing is happening. Why bootmgr has changed? Anybody helps?

The guest machine was working since a long time. I only updated
Fedora14 to Fedora16.

Thanks in advance,

Where are you getting your VirtualBox install from?
Fedora or VirtualBox.org?

Well we don't really support (fully) the distro branches of VirtualBox. They change it to meet their needs but I did fine a possible solution for you.

Problem solved.

I found the solution following the pointer sugested by Perrig (http://www.howtogeek.com/forum/topic/bo ... compressed).

insert your OS CD
go to DOS window and type in your OS driver (usualy C:/
type in bootrec /FixMbr
then type in bootrec /fixboot
then type in bootrec /rebuildbcd
then type in exit
restart your coputer
it will work 100% only if you prompt at the same order

I recovered my WinVista64.

Thanks a lot.
