Hello everybody !
I've got a project at school. I have to build a NAS (i've chose FreeNAS) ans I've make 2 Disks which are in RAID 1.
I have to prove that it works.
I would like to copy a file on my NAS and to disconnect manually one of the two HardDisk in order to show that the RAID1 is working and my FreeNAS is still copying the file...
Is it possible to manually disconnect a hard drive even if this one is used ?

FreeNAS is based on FreeBSD OS ;)

Have you considered reading the User Manual for it? If it's not noted there, it's not possible. Last time I checked, it wasn't possible, but then again, I haven't read it in a while and I also don't remember all the changes that went into VB since. So checking the changelog of the 4.x and 3.x branches will give you a quick idea if it's possible.
