Windows 7 guest crashes
Posted: 14. Dec 2011, 02:22
I have windows xp as host and recently installed windows 7 as a guest os. Everything seemed to be fine for a while then the guest os froze and I could do nothing but force shutdown the vm. After that, the windows 7 vm would not boot. In virtualbox, it says that windows 7 was aborted. After numerous unsuccessful attempts to start the windows 7 vm, I gave up and after deleting all windows 7 files, re-installed windows 7. Alas, the same thing happened again. So, I went to virtualbox and read that the current release of virtualbox (4.1.6) was supposed to have fixed freezing issues with windows 7. Guess not.
At any rate, I would like to get windows 7 guest up and running so if anyone can help I would appreciate it.
thx
windows xp SP3 host, Intel dual-core processors running at 2.4 Mhz
Total ram: 4 GB
virtualbox 4.1.6
2 GB ram allocated to windows 7 Ultimate vm
