Domain not found

I installed VirtualBox 4.1.6 on my MacBook Pro with 10.7.2. After installing and booting Windows XP, I was required to login. I entered my MBP login password and got a message that the domain could not be accessed, and would not let me login.
What do I need to do to fix this?

Use a bridged network controller in the guest settings. => Described in Manual.
If this does not help:
Post infos instead of "does not work".
VBOX version, the network topology, the full guest configuration is the minimum.

Where did you get the XP guest from? Was it originally set to use a Domain?

In Settings/Network, I changed the "Attached to" to Bridged Adapter, the name of which is WiFi (Airport). I selected "Allow All" for Promiscuous Mode and unchecked the "Cable Connected" selection. When I tried to logon, I received the following Logon Message: The system cannot log you on due to the following error: The specified domain either does not exist or found not be contacted. Please try again or consult your system administrator.
The Window XP that I am using was a personal copy and should not require a domain.

From what you say it is. The only way this would happen is during the install and by mis-configuration. The password would be what ever you used to setup the guest and not the mac pro password, unless you used the same one when setting up the guest.
