How to set the guest cpu id

Post by agen »

I try to set the cpu id with modifyvm --cpuidset on command line, but it doesn't work.
I found cpuinfo in the Log:

I want to create another vm with the same cpu info,so I try to use these command lines:
VboxManage modifyvm --cpuidset 00000000 00000005 756e6547 6c65746e 49656e69
VboxManage modifyvm --cpuidset 00000001 0001067a 00000800 00000209 078bf1bf
VboxManage modifyvm --cpuidset 00000002 05b0b101 005657f0 00000000 2cb43048
VboxManage modifyvm --cpuidset 00000003 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000
VboxManage modifyvm --cpuidset 00000004 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000
VboxManage modifyvm --cpuidset 00000005 00000040 00000040 00000000 00000000

I am so confused that nothing happened after I excute these command lines without any error messages.
How to use the "cpuidset" correctly?

The guest is not running.
I start the vm just after execute the "modify --cpuidset" command.
