How to check and restore VMDK file

I got the following message when I tried to run Virtual mashine after power loss.

Please advise tools to check/restore broken vmdk file

You might want to ask on VMware forums for tools to fix problems like these with their format. As far as I know Virtualbox doesn't provide any.
