Hi,
I have a Macbook running Virtualbox with 2 guest OS, Windows XP and Windows 2008 server. So, I have the latest version of Guest Addition, VirtualBox and Extension Pack; and yes, the USB I want to use (Toshiba) is allowed in the filters. The USB 2.0 (EHCI) controller is also enabled. Now, on the Windows XP host, everything works perfectly. I plug in the USB, and ding dong, out it comes. But I'm not so lucky with the Windows 2008 server.
At first, when I plug in the USB, and try to select it from the list of USB devices, it's grayed out even though other built-in USBs like the iSight are all available. Then, I upgraded the Guest Addition as well, and the Toshiba option is no longer grayed out. However, when I select it, the Failed to Attach error shows up. Details of the error is as follows: [Callee RC: NS_ERROR_CALL_FAILED (0x800706BE)].
Definitely not the first time I see this error. After dismissing the error, and I checked the list again, and it's empty now. I repeated this several times, and I get the same results every time.
