I'm running Win XP, hosted under OS X Lion, using the latest VirtualBox 4.1.6, although this problem has existed since many previous versions, and OS X Leopard. Everything works well, except for two things:
1. File transfer to/from the host is slow. This does not concern me very much right now.
2. When using FileZilla for FTP to the Internet, the success varies. Sometimes it is as fast as using FileZilla on the host system. Other times, it will transfer a file or two, or maybe even just a part of a file, and then stall until the remote machine times out. A few minutes later I can try again, and it will work OK for a while. I've tried this with all firewall software turned off (as far as I know), with the same results.
Does anyone know what's up, or more specifically, what I can do about it?
